Port Hedland Wind Fences

Client: BHP Location: Port Hedland, WA

CPB Contractors has been selected by BHP to deliver its Wind Fences Project; with fences to be constructed at Nelson Point and Finucane Island at Port Hedland, in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.

The project involves construction and installation of dust mitigation fences, set to improve environmental outcomes through dust abatement for the Port Hedland township.

Surveying works have included:

  • Establishment of survey control
  • Location of existing underground services
  • Base UAV Mapping and subsequent flyovers for quantities
  • Earthworks
  • Civil works including roads, retaining walls
  • Setout of fence footings
  • Rail monitoring
  • Erection of structural steel for fences
